Scott Kimelman
Partner & Co-Chief Investment Officer
For nearly three decades, Scott has applied his research and trading expertise to help maximize returns for clients at K&B. As a senior member of the leadership team, Scott serves on the firm’s investment and compliance committees and focuses on portfolio construction, risk management, and asset allocation.
A trained research analyst, Scott began his career as a Trading Assistant at Weiss, Peck & Greer. He then became a member of the NYSE – indeed, he was one of the youngest members ever to sign the NYSE book – and served as Director of all NYSE Floor Operations for K&B. Over the subsequent decades, Scott shifted his focus to research and prepared detailed financial statements, in-depth analysis and valuation of portfolio companies and peer analysis. In 2010, Scott was named a partner of the firm.
As Co-Chief Investment Officer, Scott leverages his research expertise and deep understanding of market structure to create custom solutions that best serve each individual client.

Sapan Vyas brings nearly 20 years of extensive markets experience to the firm. As a senior member of the leadership team, Sapan serves on the firm’s investment and executive committees and focuses on portfolio construction, risk management, and asset allocation.
Sapan has dedicated his entire career to Kimelman & Baird, where he started as a Research Analyst shortly after graduating from college in 2001. His years of research experience prepared him well to join the senior investment committee, where he serves as Portfolio Manager. Sapan was named partner in 2013.
Sapan constantly strives to improve the experience for clients, and he has been instrumental in promoting technology transformation initiatives that have streamlined processes and strengthened client relationships.

Partner & Chief Operating Officer; Head of Client Relations and Portfolio Administration
Yasmeen has devoted a nearly 20-year career to Kimelman & Baird, where she began as an Operations Associate shortly after graduating from college in 2002. Her experience has given her deep insight into both client needs and trade operations. As a senior member of the leadership team, she serves on the Investment Committee, where she contributes to investment strategy and portfolio construction and ensures the firm’s strategies align with clients’ evolving needs.
As Head of Operations, she has implemented processes and systems to improve internal efficiency and regulatory compliance. Yasmeen led the firm’s business model transformation initiative, met with top national clearing firm personnel to review offerings and determine best fit for firm needs, and periodically reviews and enhances K&B’s technology stack and operations processes.
As Head of Client Relationship Management, Yasmeen focuses on nurturing trusting relationships and providing astute, personalized guidance to all clients.

A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Joyce Chan prides herself on her accuracy, organization, and keen attention to detail in all her endeavors. As a member of the leadership team, Joyce serves on the Compliance Committee and ensures the firm’s new accounts and documentation meet regulatory compliance requirements.
Joyce has spent 15 years working in operations at Kimelman & Baird. Today, she manages all internal account documentation and data integrations, reviews and approves all client money and securities transactions, and performs post-trade allocation and reconciliation.

Administrative Director
Pat has devoted nearly 50 years of service to Kimelman & Baird. She joined the firm as an Administrative Assistant in 1972, shortly after graduating from college. Over her tenure, Pat has been responsible for the accounting, finance, compliance, and human resource operations functions for the firm. In her current role, she leads vendor relations and trade settlement and reconciliation, and she establishes business process management of all back office functions.
Pat has long standing family roots in New York City, where she supports several non-profit boards and professional organizations.

Nicole works closely with K&B clients to cultivate a positive and trusting relationship. She serves on the Operations Committee, where she works to assist clients and partners with their technological needs and ensure the smooth operation of the business.
Nicole has previous client service and administrative experience, having served as a Customer Insights Stylist at Rent the Runway before joining the firm as an Administrative Assistant in 2016. She was soon promoted to her current role, where she oversees daily operations of new client onboarding and document management, manages internal documentation and internal integration, and ensures the timely and accurate completion of client transactions, among other duties.

Sheila has been an integral part of Kimelman & Baird since the firm’s founding in 1966. A Toronto native, Sheila immigrated to New York in 1965 and began working for Andresen & Co. While working for Andresen from 1961-1963, she met Michael Kimelman, who recruited her to join his new brokerage firm, M. Kimelman & Co., as a founding partner and research analyst. In 1995, the firm was renamed Kimelman & Baird, LLC.
Over the past 50 years, Sheila has been instrumental in creating a firm driven by care for the client, ethical judgment, and integrity. With five decades of investment experience to her name, Sheila has gained the trust of countless clients, who appreciate both the shrewdness of her investments and the quality of her care.
As Co-Chief Investment Officer, Sheila is deeply involved in each of the firm’s investment decisions. Her experience and expertise have allowed her to help clients navigate macroeconomic headwinds and weather storms.

Michael Kimelman founded Kimelman & Company in 1966. Along with co-founder Sheila Baird, Michael helped grow the firm from a small broker-dealer to a robust investment advisory with over $1B in assets under management.

Gabriela assists with developing a supportive and reliable relationship with our clients as their first point of contact. She supports our Client Service and Operations teams with accurate documentation and by receiving client inquiries with empathy. Gabriela is eager to help ensure clients are taken care of and the business is running efficiently.
Her recent experience in financial services includes an Administrative Assistant role on a global Multi-Asset investment team. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Baruch College. She was thrilled to join the K&B team in 2024, where she assists with daily operations of new client onboarding and document management, manages internal documentation and internal integration, and supports marketing and business development initiatives, among other duties.
